ACCIÓ's ajuts a projectes d'exploració tecnològica line. Rules EMT/2403/2026 (DOGC 9708) and the 2026 call (DOGC 9718). Budget for the call: 3.4 M€.

Which projects fit

The line funds exploring what is not solved yet. Integrating software that already works is excluded by the call. That is why what fits best today is agentic AI: agents that do not just answer, but run a task from start to finish. There the uncertainty is real and measurable: the best model evaluated in July 2026 completed 26% of 1,490 real tasks contributed by professionals from 55 sectors. That gap between the promise and the data is exactly what ACCIÓ pays you to explore.

Person filing administrative documents into a box
Administration

Agents that close the case file

Reconciling invoices against case files, preparing collections, squaring reporting. Any OCR can already read the document; what remains to be proven is that an agent decides and leaves an auditable trail.

Hands reviewing paper invoices with notes in red
Exceptions

The odd case a person handles today

Your software already covers the routine. The margin is in the exceptions: how many the agent closes on its own and how many it knows to hand back in time, measured on your real cases.

Laptop showing a data dashboard and business charts
Multi-system

An agent that crosses your systems

Email, ERP, spreadsheet and WhatsApp chained together without losing the thread. This is exactly where agents fail in public benchmarks, and why you test it before buying it.

Person with a headset helping customers in front of a screen
Judgement

How much autonomy each task can take

Where it acts alone and where it has to stop and ask. That boundary does not come out of the box: it is calibrated with your data and measured with the cost of an error on the table.

Activities the grant does fund

  • Proofs of concept and minimum viable products on your real processes.
  • Prototypes and experimental trials still outside production.
  • Exploration, training and validation of AI models or advanced software.
  • Technical or functional validation with real users and real data, not in a demo.

And the ones it does not

  • Deploying, integrating or scaling a technology that already works.
  • Buying standard software, hardware or licences.
  • Digitising processes with nothing to validate.
  • Market studies, technology watch or plain theoretical analysis.

Literal lists from the 2026 call, sections 9.1 and 9.2. The project must end in a technological validation: objective evidence that confirms or knocks down the hypotheses set out at the start. That is why every pilot leaves here with metrics and with a success criterion written before the first line of code.

Who can apply

Eligible

  • An operating establishment in Catalonia.
  • SL, SA or cooperative, of any size and sector.
  • Up to date with the tax authority, Social Security and the Generalitat.
  • A company representative's digital certificate (if you do not have one, we guide you).

Not eligible

  • Self-employed people without a company.
  • Companies with no activity in Catalonia.

The numbers, with an example

ACCIÓ requires the whole project to cost at least 20,000 €: it is the sum of every line, not any single one. This example comes to 36,000 €, and every figure is where it is for a reason. Here is who puts in what.

Example project · 36,000 € budget
What you pay us 15,000 €

We design and run the AI pilot. It is the project's only large invoice.

ACCIÓ puts in 11,250 € · 75%

Your team's hours 20,000 €

They count as project spend, but they do not leave the bank account: you already pay those salaries. The figure is not accidental: the grant for this line caps at 15,000 €, and 20,000 € of cost is exactly where that ceiling is reached.

ACCIÓ puts in 15,000 € · 75%

The audit 1,000 €

The report the justification requires. This line is separate: it is covered in full.

ACCIÓ puts in 1,000 € · 100%

Total ACCIÓ pays you 27,250 €

11,250 + 15,000 + 1,000. The 60% is paid up front and with no guarantee: 16,350 € before the project starts.

The example uses the three typical lines of a software pilot. The call admits four types of spend (2026 call, section 10): own staff, external collaborations, materials and consumables, and the audit of the justification. Ceilings from section 6.1: the grant for own staff cannot exceed 15,000 € per project, the audit is funded at 100% with a maximum of 1,500 € and the total grant cannot exceed 30,000 €. The minimum eligible cost is 20,000 €. The award is not guaranteed.

We are not the paperwork firm: we are the technology provider

A grants firm writes the application and disappears. This line requires a technology provider that runs the project: that is us.

Why applications fail

We have studied the rules, ACCIÓ's official session and the previous edition. They fail for these reasons:

Outside the official templates

Outright rejection, with no chance to correct it. The most expensive mistake and the most avoidable.

The wrong certificate

Without the company representative's certificate, the application counts as not submitted.

No technological risk

Buying a ready-made tool is not exploring. Well-justified risk scores points.

A weak report

Competitive process: 112 grants in the previous edition. Quality decides.

How we do it

  1. Free assessment

30 minutes: we see whether you qualify and whether there is a project that makes sense. If there is not, we tell you.

  2. Project design and application

Technical report and budget on ACCIÓ's official templates, ready to sign.

  3. Submission before 21/09/2026

Through Canal Empresa, with the folder checked against the rules point by point.

  4. Running the pilot

On your real processes and data, with your team involved and the justification kept up to date.

  5. Justification and payment

A 60% advance once awarded; the rest when it is justified with your auditor.

Frequently asked questions

What is ACCIÓ's technology exploration line?

It is a grant from ACCIÓ (the Catalan government's agency for business competitiveness) that funds projects where a company explores whether a new technology works for it before adopting it at scale: a pilot, a prototype or a feasibility analysis, in collaboration with an external technology provider. The governing rules are Resolution EMT/2403/2026, of 10 July (DOGC 9708, of 15.07.2026), and the 2026 call was published in DOGC 9718, of 29.07.2026.

How much do they give and what does it cover?

The grant covers 75% of the project's eligible spend, up to a maximum of 30,000 €. The minimum eligible cost is 20,000 €, and it refers to the whole project: it is the sum of every line, not any single one. It covers the external technology provider's invoice, the hours of your own staff assigned to the project (up to 20,000 € of cost, which is where the grant for that line hits its 15,000 € ceiling) and the audit report for the justification, which is funded at 100% up to 1,500 €. Once awarded, you can request a 60% advance with no guarantee required.

Which companies can apply?

Companies with an operating establishment in Catalonia and a corporate legal form (SL, SA, cooperatives and similar), of any size and any sector. Self-employed people without a company cannot be beneficiaries. You need to be up to date with the tax authority and Social Security, and to sign the application with a company representative's digital certificate. Each company may submit only one application to this line per call.

Which projects does it not fund?

Section 9.2 of the call expressly excludes implementing, integrating or scaling technologies, the ordinary rollout of a solution, the routine integration of existing technology, the standard purchase of software, hardware or licences, digitisation with no experimental component, and anything that goes only to commercial exploitation. Nor is a market study, technology watch or theoretical analysis enough: the project has to end in a technological validation with objective evidence on the hypotheses set out at the start. That is why agentic AI pilots fit well: the outcome is not yet guaranteed and there are real hypotheses to measure.

When is the deadline?

The 2026 call closes on 21/09/2026 at 14:00. The project can run from the day after the application until 21/07/2027. Since preparing a good technical report takes time, it is worth starting at least two weeks before the deadline.

Does my company have to front the money?

Only partly. Once awarded, you can request a 60% advance without presenting any guarantee, and the rest is paid when the project is justified. On top of that, if part of the budget is your own team's hours, that cost does not leave the bank account: with the right structure, the grant can end up covering practically the whole invoice from the external provider.

What is DelegaloAI's role?

We are the project's technology provider, not a grants agency. We design with you what to explore (usually AI agents on administrative processes, on the exceptions a person handles today, or across several of your systems chained together), we write the technical report and the budget on ACCIÓ's official templates, and we run the pilot on your real processes. The supporting documentation is prepared from the project's first day.

Is the award guaranteed?

No. It is a competitive procedure: projects are scored and the best ones win until the call's budget runs out (3.4 million euros). In the previous edition of this line, 112 grants were awarded. That is why the quality of the technical report is decisive, and why an application outside the official templates is rejected outright, with no chance to correct it.
